Clearanail Information Leaflet

Clearanail is an anti-fungal treatment that is used to put small holes into your nails allowing the anti-fungal treatment to be absorbed into your nails to treat the underlying infection.

Traditional methods involve putting a nail lacquer onto the nail, but this has a poor success rate as the lacquer cannot penetrate the nail because the infection is in the nail bed.

Key features:

  • Involves controlled micro-drilling of the fungal nail
  • Pain-free and non-invasive treatment
  • 2-3 treatments sessions required
  • No need to rest after treatment and no post-treatment dressings required

Your treatment package includes:

  • Initial treatment session
  • Repeat treatment session after 8 weeks
  • Anti-fungal spray to apply daily after treatment
  • Follow up review 8 weeks after 2nd treatment session

In more advanced infections, a course of oral anti-fungal tablets may be required in combination with topical treatments. In these cases we will arrange this with your GP depending on your medical history, foot status and clinical appearance of your nails.
